Position Information

Crestwood High School is a 7-12 comprehensive, coeducational high school with an enrolment of approximately 1040 students including 47% from a non-English speaking background. The school has a Support Unit consisting of 30 students. Crestwood High School has an established reputation for excellence in academics, sport, public speaking and creative arts demonstrating a commitment to excellence in all areas of student development. The school maintains high expectations for all students, with the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program integrated into every aspect of school life to support and uphold these standards. Crestwood High focuses on quality teaching and has a strong emphasis on differentiated curriculum while offering a broad curriculum, responsive to students’ needs and interests. Selection Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

1. Demonstrated ability to lead teams in the implementation of curriculum initiatives and effective teaching practices to improve student learning outcomes.

2. Demonstrated capacity in managing whole school timetabling processes and ensuring whole school compliance with curriculum and assessment in line with policy requirements.

3. Proven ability to lead targeted programs and initiatives that promote engagement and success for a diverse range of students, including those with high potential and giftedness.

4. Demonstrated capacity to collaborate effectively with the executive team to develop and implement strategic plans that promote a shared vision of continuous improvement in teaching and learning outcomes.


General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity

If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
