Our Maintenance and Improvement team is looking for a dynamic client focused temporary Facilities Services Officer, to join the School Facilities Operations Team.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

Your Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated individual who will assist in a range of infrastructure, planning and asset management activities, to coordinate, negotiate and implement all staffing movements for cleaners statewide, including transfers, filling of vacant positions, leave applications and change of hours.

Responsibilities Include

As the Facilities Services Officer, School Facilities Operations you will:

  • Participate, with supervision, in a range of business as usual and business improvement activities across a broad range of infrastructure, planning and asset management strategies to contribute to the delivery of tailored infrastructure solutions for the department.
  • Monitor the effective use of staffing resources for cleaners, ensuring adherence to conditions of the current Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.
  • Compile and formulate reports and submissions to support the delivery of a range of services and support management of departmental facilities.
  • Resolve operational problems and assist in the development and implementation of initiatives, policies, processes and systems, and monitor and maintain practices to ensure compliance with legislation, whole of government and departmental requirements in regards to cleaners.
    • Assist in the coordination of all activities for the efficient operational management of departmental facilities and assets, particularly those relating to property, building assets and equipment.
  • Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.

About You

The ideal applicant will possess the following knowledge, skills, experience and personal attributes:

  • Knowledge of, or knows where to find knowledge of, legislation, awards, policies, procedures and systems relevant to cleaners employed by the department.
  • Ability to provide thorough advice and to develop operational strategies for the delivery of quality human resource management services, while demonstrating reliability in organising individual workloads to meet deadlines, commitments and client service standards.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, liaising and establishing good working relationships with staff and clients at all levels.
  • Takes personal responsibility for accurate completion of work and commits energy and drive to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Focuses on clear communication of key points using participative decision-making skills, written skills including the ability to prepare reports and to provide accurate and timely advice to a diverse range of clients.
