As the Manager DDI Risk - RCCE, you will be pivotal in leading the delivery of an effective risk management advisory function within our Data, Digital and Innovation (DDI) division, with a strong focus on Data Management and Governance, and the evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence.

Reporting to the Head of Insights and Analytics, you will oversee risk management activities, build risk maturity within the DDI team and across the broader organisation, ensuring alignment with our risk appetite and strategic objectives.

This is a key role in supporting the transition of line 1 risk activities and embedding the 3 Lines of Accountability (3LoA) model at RACQ. You will collaborate closely with Technology Security, Group Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to ensure cohesive risk and compliance outcomes. Your leadership will champion risk management behaviours and elevate risk awareness as a core capability within the DDI division.

This is a hybrid working role and will be based at Eight Mile Plains three days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Data, Digital and Innovation Risk team fostering a high-performance culture aligned with RACQ's values.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Data Governance Framework and relevant policies (Responsible AI, AI Governance Model, Data Retention).
  • Drive alignment with the Operational Risk Management Framework and Risk Management strategy within the DDI division.
  • Provide crucial linkage between incidents and operational risks to inform our overall risk posture and drive continuous improvement.
  • Offer expert risk management coaching and advisory services to DDI stakeholders, enhancing risk awareness and outcomes.
  • Oversee the development of technical and business risk assessments for DDI, reporting on treatments and escalating issues as needed.
  • Uplift control testing maturity across the team, addressing assurance findings promptly.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the DD&I policy suite in line with RACQ's security and group policy guidelines.
  • Provide insightful risk reporting to key committees and governance forums.
  • Maintain accurate and high-quality risk information within the GRC system for effective decision-making.
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across all three lines of accountability.

What You'll Bring

  • Extensive experience in ICT risk-related role, specifically with AI and Data risk governance implementation and control management
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation abilities, with strong reporting and presentation skills for diverse audiences, including on AI and data-related risks.
  • Deep understanding of ICT security controls, relevant legislation, policies, and systems, with specific knowledge of AI and data governance frameworks.
  • Proven leadership track record demonstrating integrity, excellence, the ability to manage teams, and drive change in dynamic environments, including implementing and overseeing AI and data risk strategies.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to thrive under pressure and prioritize effectively, particularly in identifying and mitigating AI and data-related risks.
  • A proven track record as a professional leader with strong integrity and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, meet deadlines, and effectively prioritise workloads.
