QTC's Advisory Division is seeking a seasoned commercial transactions and investment professional to join our Investment Team.
The Investments team is part of the Economic Portfolios (EP) group within the Advisory Division and works closely with the central agencies (Queensland Treasury, Premiers and State Development departments) to provide corporate finance, financial due diligence and commercial transaction advice for a range of government investments.
This includes a range of sectors working collaboratively with our central agency clients to create better financial and economic outcomes for Queensland. The team provides a commercial lens that complements and supplements their internal knowledge with our own industry and technical expertise.
As a Director within the Investment Team, you will lead a team of six professionals and oversee multi-disciplinary EP project teams. You will ensure successful project delivery, develop key client relationships, engage with stakeholders, and achieve Group and Divisional KPIs. Additionally, you will identify new opportunities and develop team capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic and commercial leadership: Lead the technical and commercial elements of a pipeline of priority transaction advisory and investment due diligence assignments as determined by government.
- Project Oversight: Oversee the execution of project deliverables and teams, ensuring high-quality and sound advice to support priority investments to contractual execution
- Client Relationships: Develop and maintain officer and executive-level relationships within client groups.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Lead direct engagement with key stakeholders on large, complex assignments.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Provide leadership and effective communication to team members and other QTC leaders, while mentoring and guiding direct and indirect reports within the EP Group and project teams.
- Executive Support: Support the Executive Director and perform other relevant duties.
- Corporate Finance Expertise: Deep experience in corporate finance and commercial transactions, including financial modelling, due diligence, and structuring.
- Commercial Acumen: Relevant hands-on experience and skills to navigate complex client/project challenges.
- Investment Rationale: Ability to create and articulate investment rationale, including capital structures and strategies to mitigate commercial and financial risks.
- Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership in transaction management, due diligence, and capital structuring for large, complex deals.
- Effective Communication: Ability to deliver complex financial and commercial advice in persuasive everyday language, both verbally and in written reports.
- Industry and Market Dynamics: Deep understanding of capital market dynamics to inform projects, programs, and investment frameworks for clients.
- Private Sector Insight: In-depth knowledge of private sector investment decision-making processes.
- Project Financing: Comprehensive understanding of project financing and investment instruments, including risk allocation and post-transaction operational issues.
- Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
