About The Client

Our client is a leading residential construction provider in New South Wales, with a strong focus on design and construct (D&C) delivery. Their key clients include AHO, NDIS, and NSW Homes, requiring a high level of compliance, coordination, and execution across all projects.

Job Overview

The Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of residential construction projects, from pre-construction through to final handover. The role is ideal for someone with extensive NSW residential building experience, strong onsite coordination capabilities, and the ability to resolve design-related issues in real-time. This role is central to ensuring project success through effective team leadership, program control, and trade management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver residential construction projects from planning through to handover.
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and trades, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality expectations are met.
  • Resolve onsite design issues by liaising with architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Maintain alignment between construction progress and design intent.
  • Interpret and work from take-offs prepared in Bluebeam; familiarity with the software is helpful.
  • Develop and manage project schedules in Microsoft Project.
  • Monitor project budgets, manage variations, and report financial performance.
  • Ensure projects comply with NSW codes, safety standards, and client-specific requirements.
  • Keep accurate documentation and manage progress reporting across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement onsite.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in NSW residential building, with a deep understanding of local practices, codes, and standards.
  • Demonstrated success delivering design and construct (D&C) projects.
  • Strong capability in resolving design coordination issues onsite.
  • Skilled in managing and communicating with trades and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project for programming and scheduling.
  • Ability to interpret construction documentation and Bluebeam-generated take-offs.
  • Some experience in Bluebeam is ideal but not essential.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and decision-making under pressure.
  • High attention to detail in documentation, coordination, and quality assurance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Engineering background (civil, structural, or similar) is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements for AHO, NDIS, and NSW Homes projects.
  • Experience dealing with local government authorities and utility bodies highly advantageous!
