Our client is seeking an exceptional leader to join their team as a General Manager - Customer and Commercial. As a key member of the executive team, you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing and executing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
Commercial Growth Strategy
Design and execute data-driven commercial strategies to support revenue growth, identify and develop new markets, customer segments, and revenue streams.
Business Development & Strategic Growth
Lead major commercial deals, partnerships and bids. Drive pipeline management and revenue forecasting, evaluate and execute growth opportunities including product innovation and market expansion initiatives.
Financial Performance & Commercial Reporting
Own revenue, gross margin, and profitability outcomes, including forecasting and performance analysis, set and meet budgets, develop and maintain commercial dashboards and KPIs.
Cross-functional Leadership & Alignment
Collaborate with internal functions to ensure alignment while influencing product and service development based on insights. Establish, lead and develop a high-performing BD team.
Client & Partner Engagement
Build and manage senior relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and partners. Represent the company in industry forums and deliver a consistent and compelling customer value proposition.
The Successful General Manager will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a high growth customer-facing or commercial environment
- Proven success in driving business growth, improving customer satisfaction, and leading cross-functional teams
- A proven track record of delivering business growth and improving customer satisfaction
- Strong commercial acumen, with expertise in market analysis, competitive intelligence, and pricing strategies
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire high-performing teams
- Strategic thinking, with experience in developing and implementing business plans, and measuring results
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive insights-driven decision-making
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams
In an ideal world, they will also bring experience in a relevant industry, familiarity with CRM systems/data analytics tools and a sense of innovative curiosity.
The role will also require regular travel - up to 20% of your time.
