Purpose of the role

In this role you’ll join our dynamic Data Platform team, playing a pivotal role in designing, building, and managing CI/CD pipelines that drive our data initiatives. You’ll leverage your expertise in Azure and automation to support critical financial data systems, ensuring reliability, scalability, and compliance with the highest standards of the finance sector.

What will your key responsibilities include?


  • Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, Azure Functions, and other data services.
  • Automation: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Bicep for scalable and repeatable deployments.
  • Integration: Collaborate with data engineering teams to embed DevOps best practices into workflows, ensuring seamless integration between pipelines and data platforms.
  • Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize CI/CD processes for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Embed observability tools for real-time monitoring, and provide support for pipeline incidents with effective root-cause analysi.
  • Governance & Compliance: Enforce best practices in security, compliance, and governance across DevOps processes to meet banking standards.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure and DevOps strategies with business objectives.
  • Documentation and Training: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures and guides to facilitate knowledge transfer and training.


What are we looking for?


  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Mathematics, or Business.Proven experience in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines for Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, Azure Functions, and other Azure services.
  • Expertise in Azure DevOps and its toolset (Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts, Boards).Proficiency in Terraform or Bicep for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or equivalent languages.
  • Solid understanding of core Azure services, including Virtual Machines, Storage, Key Vault, and Networking (DNS, Firewalls, Load Balancers).
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices, compliance, and governance within Azure environments.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes (AKS) (desirable).
  • Experience with data integration tools such as Mulesoft or similar platforms (desirable).
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven workflows (desirable).
  • Exposure to Azure Sentinel and other advanced security tools (desirable).
