About the Role:

This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity, reliability, and efficiency of NSWPF’s voice and data communications network. As a key technical resource, the position delivers crucial operational support, proactive troubleshooting, and strategic maintenance to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal system performance. By swiftly addressing issues and implementing preventative measures, this role helps minimise downtime, safeguard critical communications, and uphold productivity for Department personnel and internal teams. Through expert problem-solving and technical oversight, it plays an essential role in sustaining a secure and high-functioning communication infrastructure.

Key Accountabilities:

  • First-Level Network Support: Assist users with troubleshooting and resolving connectivity issues.
  • Cisco VOIP Systems Maintenance: Maintain and support Cisco VOIP phones and associated systems, including Call Manager, Contact Centre Express, Unity, and VCS.
  • Network Monitoring and Analysis: Conduct network monitoring and analysis, identifying and addressing potential performance concerns.
  • Cisco Configuration: Configure Cisco switches and routers to ensure optimal network functionality.
  • Technical Assistance for Conferencing Solutions: Deliver technical assistance for audio/video conferencing solutions.
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity Support: Address Wi-Fi connectivity challenges across Cisco and Aruba infrastructure.
  • Advanced Networking Solutions: Support advanced networking solutions, including Cisco ACI, SD-WAN, Cisco ISE, Catalyst Centre, and F5 Load Balancers.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance to Field Support teams and Engineers.
  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with vendors to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Hardware and Firmware Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot Cisco hardware and firmware-related concerns.
  • Cabling Fault Identification: Identify cabling faults and coordinate repairs with approved cabling contractors.
  • Standard Setup Procedures: Implement standard setup procedures for network and ICT systems in alignment with SLAs, policies, and guidelines.
  • Network Performance Monitoring: Monitor network performance, assisting in the identification of faults and suggesting improvement strategies.
  • Documentation Efforts: Contribute to documentation efforts, maintaining technical reference materials for ICT support teams.
  • After-Hours Support: Participate in a rotational roster providing after-hours on-call support.

What's on Offer?

This contract is available for an initial 12 month contract with likely extensions. Located in Parramatta, Sydney, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement.
