The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person-centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

Everyone deserves a safe place to call home. At The Salvation Army Murrumbidgee, we support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness with dignity, compassion, and practical help.
We’re looking for a dedicated Support Worker in Griffith (22.8 hours per week, with travel to Leeton and Narrandera) to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families working toward safety and stability.
This role is rewarding but also challenging. It requires resilience, empathy, and a strong sense of purpose to support people through emotional and complex situations. If you can stay grounded and advocate for those in need, this role is for you. We need someone ready to make a lasting impact and help change lives.

You will successfully
- Deliver real impact by providing support aligned with national and state homelessness strategies and the National Homelessness Stream Model of Care
- Put compassion into action through Trauma Informed Care, while living out The Salvation Army’s mission, vision and values
- Team up for change by working closely with case managers to build client capacity, independence, and essential life skills
- Be where you're needed most by engaging with clients onsite and in the community—from intake and assessment to ongoing support
- Keep things running smoothly with essential admin tasks like booking appointments, writing case notes, distributing food hampers, and helping maintain our properties
- Minimum Cert IV in Community Services (or relevant field) required
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of Trauma Informed Care Framework is desirable
- Current NSW Working With Children Check
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
