Ellenbrook Christian College, situated in one of Perth’s fastest-growing corridors, is seeking an experienced Business Manager to support the College Principal in leading the day-to-day operations of the school.


As the region undergoes significant population growth and infrastructure expansion, Ellenbrook Christian College is positioned for continued development. To support this growth, we seek a strategically minded, commercially focused Business Manager who will drive operational excellence and financial sustainability, while harnessing the advantages of being part of the Swan Christian Education Association (SCEA) network of schools.


Key responsibilities

  • Strategic & Collaborative Leadership – Promotes the College’s mission and values, provides leadership within the senior executive team, and works closely with the College Principal and broader community to ensure effective governance and operational alignment.
  • Financial Oversight & Management – Ensures compliance with policies and regulations, develops strategic financial plans, maintains accurate financial records, monitors budgets, and safeguards the school’s financial viability through responsible financial stewardship.
  • Operational & Business Services Leadership – Oversees business operations, property management, and ICT implementation, ensuring systems, policies, and resources support the College’s strategic goals. Leads teams with clear role expectations and fosters professional development.
  • Remuneration, Payroll & Compliance – Manages payroll in alignment with budget and policy, ensuring timely salary payments while maintaining compliance with statutory financial and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk & Continuous Improvement – Assists with risk management, occupational health and safety, and identifies opportunities for improvement. Actively contributes to mentoring, best practices, and ongoing development across business functions.


Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Proven ability to provide strategic financial oversight and operational leadership, ensuring long-term sustainability and business growth.
  • Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills, with demonstrated experience contributing to senior leadership in corporate, professional, or Christian education environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and implement business transformation programs, including financial planning, risk management, and operational efficiency.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with expertise in relationship-building, stakeholder engagement, consultation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in finance, risk, performance management, and compliance within complex organisations, including education and Christian institutions.
  • Strong understanding of Christian organisations and/or not-for-profit environments, with the ability to integrate faith-driven leadership into financial and operational strategies.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline highly desirable.
