About the role
This casual position is ideal for teacher aides looking for employment during the school holiday periods or for individuals seeking to gain more experience working with children with disability support needs.

As a Youth Program Support Worker, you’ll be part of a fun and dedicated team supporting children aged 5 to 18 with additional needs. Your role is all about creating a positive, engaging environment filled with exciting activities that keep our kids active and smiling!

This position operates during school holidays only at Hervey Bay Special School, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with personal care and toileting when needed
• Prepare meals, bake tasty treats, and keep the environment clean
• Provide emotional support and encouragement
• Assist with mobility and communication needs
• Organise and lead fun recreational activities
• Create a safe and nurturing environment where everyone feels supported

What We’re Looking For:

• A positive attitude and a passion for working with kids
• Patience and empathy in all situations
• Strong communication skills and a team player mentality
• Previous experience with children, particularly those with disabilities

Requirements

• Senior First Aid and CPR certificate
• QLD blue card (working with children check)
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (yellow card)
• NDIS Orientation Module Certificate ‘Quality, Safety & You’
