Your Team


The Risk and Operations team is part of CFS's Superannuation & Investments (S&I) business unit which is accountable for delivering investment, superannuation and retirement products to our customers. The S&I business unit is led by the CEO - CFS Super who has fiduciary and compliance responsibilities to ensure all CFS businesses manage risks effectively in customers best interests. In this regard S&I team members will often act on behalf of the Trustee or Responsible Entity on behalf of all the relevant CFS business units.



Your Responsibilities

  • Driving a high performing team in the above-mentioned functional responsibilities
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Product, Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management teams, to ensure that product-related activities are conducted in a compliant and risk-aware manner
  • Prepare and present reports on product governance, risk management, and compliance activities to senior management and relevant committees
  • Adhere to the CFS Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour, actions and decisions we expect from our people.
  • Contribute to CFS Risk strategy formulation and successfully deliver risk strategy initiatives.
  • Deliver BAU work activities in line with a team plan.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on product governance, risk management, and compliance requirements
  • Ensure appropriate record keeping obligations are meet across the functional responsibilities (eg product governances, FAR accountabilities and the obligation management framework)
  • Lead, motivate and inspire a proud and engaged team of Line 1 risk professionals
  • Drive a proactive risk and control culture, motivate and inspire a team of controls enablement professionals.



Your Capability and Experience


Mandatory

  • Solid Experience in Risk Management, and/or Compliance and/or Line 1 Risk within Superannuation and Investments industry.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to product governance, risk management, compliance frameworks and obligations management.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective governance frameworks, risk management, and compliance programs.
  • Proven track record in leading high performing teams
  • Advanced Influencing and consulting skills, being highly adept at managing a diverse group of senior stakeholders and relationships
  • Highly developed executive communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems
  • Ability to think strategically and make clear and immediate decisions
  • Tertiary (or other relevant) qualification in Law, Finance, Commerce or related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in leadership roles within the superannuation industry or other relevant industry



Desirable

  • Strong understanding of wealth management and CFS business.
  • Deep understanding of how risk management and compliance activities is actioned within CFS
  • Ability to work autonomously and able to lead cross functional teams, providing visibility to Senior Mgt on progress, challenges and outcomes.
  • Highly effective stakeholder engagement to ensure clear understanding of needs and priorities.
  • Experience and credibility in engaging with senior internal stakeholders
  • RG146 or relevant other industry related qualifications
