About The Role
Due to continuing strong growth, we have a great opportunity for a Design Manager to join our Adelaide team.
As a key member of our Design team, you will be responsible for
- Conformity of all design activities with Company standards, procedures and policies and with laws, regulations and industry standards.
- Conformance to time schedules, budgets and performance criteria.
- Design Development to budget at both Tender and Post contract stages.
- Coordinate the information flow between design and construction teams.
- Ensure Suitable and efficient construction methods together with appropriate plant selection and temporary works solutions are available.
- Manage and supervise external design consultants for projects and bids in accordance with Design Management Procedures.
- Lead Bid teams and design teams as required.
- Develop appropriate construction methods together with appropriate plant selection and temporary work solutions.
- Initiate changes to design and facilitate new or improved cost or material results.
- Prepare documentation and presentation material for prequalification’s, bids and projects.
- Review permanent and temporary works solutions to ensure reduction of any environmental and safety risks to company and legislated requirements.
- Performs scheduling and planning functions for bidding and site activities.
- Provide feedback to the project personnel on construction details. Provide drawing and technical documentation as required.
- Prepare relevant Construction Execution Procedures (CEP’s) for project personnel and for submission to the Client.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction industry with significant exposure to design, costing, estimating and planning.
- Demonstrated capability in development of innovative concepts for solutions to technical, complex issues.
- Competent understanding of Australia and International codes and standards and risk and contingency assessment.
- Self-sufficient, requiring minimal supervision with focus on pragmatic, technically sound, acceptable results.
- Strong oral and written presentation ability linked with sound relationship and integrity record.
- Can lead, organise, and motivate others and deliver to deadlines.
- Have a strong commitment to ‘Home Without Harm.’
