The Senior Systems Administrator supports business needs by providing technology solutions to end users (stakeholders, contractors and ADG sites being Darwin International Airport, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek Airports, as well as our Cairns office) through implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and IT infrastructure. This includes a focus on innovation, compliance, enhancing security practices to ensure IT systems and infrastructure quality, security, and continuous service.

The Senior Systems Administrator supports business needs by providing technology solutions to end users (stakeholders, contractors and ADG sites being Darwin International Airport, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek Airports, as well as our Cairns office) through implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and IT infrastructure. This includes a focus on innovation, compliance, enhancing security practices to ensure IT systems and infrastructure quality, security, and continuous service.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in information systems, or 5+ years practical experience in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge and experience with Azure, Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Fortigate and Ubiquiti systems.
- Knowledge of Intune, autopilot, application packaging, and distribution.
- Proficiency in PowerShell for scripting, task automation and configuration management.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, negotiation, organisational, planning and time management skills.
- Strong relationship building, interpersonal and negotiation and reporting skills.
- Proven ability to analyse operational systems and processes to support continuous improvement and drive innovation.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), NPS, FIM/MIM, Entra ID, and Federation/SSO technologies
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification.
- Microsoft and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certifications.
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks
- Understanding of cabling standards
- Proven ability to design and document comprehensive solutions for complex enterprise environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Capable of producing accurate, data-driven reports for both management and technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Solid understanding of ITIL v4 and best practices in Incident, Problem, and Change Management
