About The Role
As the Group Contracts Manager you will be responsible for managing commercial risk and governance for the business, by ensuring that customer, supplier and partner contracts are maintained with a good balance of contractual and commercial risk vs reward. This role requires strong interaction with the broader business, and therefore maintaining a “business partner” mindset will be critical, driving sustainable outcomes for the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Maintaining and improving the framework for governance and review of customer, supplier and partner contracts
- Reviewing of contracts in conjunction with relevant stakeholders and the Finance Business Partner to ensure that contracts are in line with WWG’s preferred position
- Being the conduit between WWG and Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety’s (WIS) Corporate Solicitors Office (CSO), such that relevant stakeholders at WWG appreciate the legal requirements and that the optimal outcomes for WWG can be achieved.
- In liaison with the WIS CSO, implement a framework of continuous improvement with respect to contract management within the business, including maintaining a register of contracts and legal agreements.
- Whilst WIS CSO will take the lead on all legal matters, this role will be required to be across all legal matters for the purposes of legal liability and risk reporting and critically have the judgement to flag matters to WIS CSO that may need a higher level of review.
- Ability to successfully lead contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors while maintaining strong and positive client and subcontractor relationships.
- Responsible for team management to train, support and manage the performance of the team

You will be highly commercial and possess strong communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels. Along with your business acumen, you will have:
- Ideally 5-10 years’ experience in a similar commercial contracts role
- Strong Leadership capability with a focus on coaching and mentoring team
- Full understanding of Contract Law
- Background in Sales / Retail / Operations Industries would be an advantage
- Friendly and approachable with an unwavering focus on customer service (both internal and external)
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage own time and priorities to achieve goals
- Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing at all levels
- Strong eye for detail and accuracy
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
