Kmart are creating the next generation of retail order fulfillment technology. Optimising our online order fulfillment systems and operations to enable us to deliver products that delight our online customers faster and more efficiently.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will take ownership of technical design and implementation these services. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and leadership abilities. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, mentoring junior developers and fostering a culture of excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the design, implementation, and scaling of robust solutions for our online order fulfillment.
  • Taking responsibility for high-level technical design, and problem-solving.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior developers, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.
  • Developing and maintaining components using PHP, TypeScript, Nest.js and Node.js.
  • Deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using AWS (S3, Lambda, IA Policy,) ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Advocating for and implementing DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.


To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • 7-10 years in software engineering with strong experience in Full Stack development using PHP.
  • Advanced expertise in TypeScript with proven experience in Nest and Node.
  • Solid experience in deploying and managing AWS infrastructure using CDK (Cloud Development Kit).
  • Demonstrated commitment to DevOps culture, including familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud-native architecture.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and experience mentoring junior developers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise is essential.
  • Experience in retail or e-commerce is an advantage.
