We are going through an exciting period of growth and with that we have a great opportunity for a Senior Network Safety Lead to join us!
This role will see you leading network safety strategy for Asset Management, providing and implementing strategies to prevent asset failures with a clear focus on fire prevention and community safety, optimising the cost, risk and performance of our distribution network assets over the asset lifecycle.
With a hybrid split (Office/WFH)), this role is based in Southbank, Melbourne and is part of our Asset Management team within our Network Management, Distribution line of business.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
- Analyse electrical safety of network assets and develop plans and policies to eliminate risks
- Assess asset risk profiles and develop mitigation plans and business cases for distribution assets
- Take control of compliance obligations, developing plans and strategies, consulting with regulators and monitoring the business performance
- Influence asset management and planning processes including analysis of equipment faults, risk modelling, weather impacts, focussed on asset replacement/maintenance strategies
- Provide strategic leadership and oversee the management, development and auditing of the Bushfire mitigation plan, Environmental and other safety obligations, providing strategic advice, guidance and contingency planning
You don’t need to tick every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
- Extensive demonstrated experience in Technical/Engineering roles with the utilities industry with experience in asset management and/or operational management
- Demonstrated commitment to safety outcomes
- Understanding of Asset Management leading practices, frameworks and relevant standards, including regulatory frameworks and legislation
- Understanding of relevant Australian and International standards and industry codes of practice
- Ability to lead and coordinate failure and incident investigations
- Knowledge of equipment, and technologies, with a focus on primary and secondary equipment on the Electricity Distribution Network and emerging trends and innovations
- Analytical skills and the ability to leverage data-driven insights to inform decision-making and optimise asset performance
