About The Maintenance Handyperson – Landscaper Role
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Common Area and Inhouse Maintenance team as a Maintenance Handyperson – Landscaper! This is a full-time permanent role, based across all SGCH offices and portfolio locations including Liverpool, Redfern and St Leonards where required.
As the SGCH Maintenance Handyperson – Landscaper you will provide excellent customer service by performing timely and responsive landscaping maintenance work. The role carries out high-quality maintenance of residential properties, including tree trimming, planting, building garden beds, and other landscaping tasks and support office services with landscaping tasks and collaborates on small projects with the Handypersons team.

About The Maintenance Handyperson – Landscaper Role

The role carries out high-quality maintenance of residential properties, including tree trimming, planting, building garden beds, and other landscaping tasks and support office services with landscaping tasks and collaborates on small projects with the Handypersons team.
Your Duties Will Include But Are Not Limited To
- Perform landscaping maintenance tasks, including tree trimming, planting, building garden beds, laying turf, paving, fencing, and other ad hoc maintenance activities ensuring all tasks are completed safely and to a high standard
- Provide responsive and respectful customer-centric landscaping maintenance services
- Complete WHS risk assessments for each work request and project
- Collaborate with handypersons team to achieve small projects as well as teams across the organisation to improve outcomes for customers
- Accurately collect and record tenancy and other information
- Identify and follow safe work practices and be vigilant about their application by self and others
- Use core office software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
About You (essential Requirements)
To succeed in the role, you will have the below key attributes:
- Certificate III in Landscape Construction or equivalent, Construction Induction Safety Certificate (White Card), and understanding of Australian Standards, BCA, statutory requirements, and WHS legislation
- Extensive experience in landscaping and garden maintenance, operating power tools and gardening machinery, and driving a trailer, inlcuding ability to stand for long periods and undertake manual work, such as heavy lifting using a range of equipment, machinery, and tools
- A current NSW driving licence and a willingness and ability to regularly attend SCGH sites and offices across the region
- Demonstrated skills in customer service, time management, prioritising and planning, communication and digital literacy.
- An ability and willingness to work independently with self-motivation, compassion, resilience and a social heart to continuously improve and deliver the best outcomes for the business and customers of diverse backgrounds and vulnerability.
