Reporting into the Payroll Lead, the Payroll Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a diverse workforce, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, organisational policies, and relevant industrial instruments. This role plays a key part in maintaining payroll accuracy, improving processes, and supporting a dynamic team environment.
The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of payroll experience, strong technical skills (particularly in Excel), and the ability to work collaboratively within changing and evolving work environments. Prior experience in the mining sector or similar industries is desirable.

About The Role
- Conduct end to end processing of payroll across the group for our operations
- Work collaboratively and effectively with key stakeholders across the group
- Provide general Payroll support across the group and assist key stakeholders with Payroll Queries and Processes
- Assist with generating reports for key stakeholders and management
- 3–5 years of payroll experience in medium to large organisations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including intermediate functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Competency with payroll systems such as Connx, Micropay, Pulse, or similar platforms.
- Comprehensive understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
- Experience working with diverse workforces, including industrial or mining settings (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders
