The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

About The Role

We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Youth Worker, at our Karratha location. Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a casual position.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 4.

You will successfully

• Ensure support is provided to young people in line with Youth Services Model of care and associated Frameworks.
• Establish effective relationships with clients that encourage self-determination and participation.
• Provide case management support to clients in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practice.
• Maintain accurate, thorough and up to date client records including case notes and data for all clients in accordance with TSA standards and procedures using TSA information systems.
• Ensure clients are assisted to access support services and establish community supports, including referrals to appropriate specialised agencies for counselling, therapeutic and remedial programs and where needed are assisted through advocacy with service providers.
  
  

You Will Have (Requisite Skills & Qualifications)

• Minimum Certificate 3 or 4 in Human Services or related field, or relevant equivalent experience in the Human Services Industry.
• Experience in working with youth in community or residential setting desirable.
• A National Police Record check.
• A Current and Valid WA Working with Children check.
• Current WA Drivers Licence.
• First aid certificate (current or able to get within three months).
