Contract Length: Initial 12 Month Contract
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will provide Level 3 operational support, including installation and configuration of systems, software, and infrastructure for our customers. This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical role, essential to maintaining service levels and ensuring the reliability and security of IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Incident Management: Manage and resolve customer incidents, problems, and requests, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Service Continuity: Minimise and mitigate unplanned downtime, ensuring systems meet business requirements through proactive management and peer-reviewed system changes.
- Technical Expertise: Stay at the forefront of technology, working on server, storage, virtualization, backups, automation, SCCM, and Intune, and serving as the escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Infrastructure Management: Perform day-to-day management of technical solutions, oversee infrastructure upgrades, and support operational transitions for new customers.
- Continuous Improvement: Provide continuous service improvement recommendations and assist in refining or developing processes.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams and vendors, manage patching, maintenance, and backups, and assist team members with technical challenges.
- ITIL Compliance: Operate within ITIL service management processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
Experience, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years in an IT environment with strong experience in Azure Technologies, Office 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams,, SCCM, and Intune. Familiarity with RHEL/Linux, network technologies, and VMware is essential.
- Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build high-level relationships and create documentation around knowledge and configurations.
- Abilities: Self-motivated, outcome-oriented, with integrity in dealing with customer and supplier issues.
Key Qualifications, Certifications & Training:
- Relevant Microsoft Azure Certifications (AZ-103, AZ-300/301).
- Certifications in VMware (VCA, VCP, VCAP) and Microsoft (MCSE, MCSA, or MCSD) are desirable.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting, Active Directory, VMware, UCS virtualization, Citrix VDI, SCCM, Intune, Exchange, and server/SAN technologies.
