Our Opportunity

Work Location: Ironbridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth

The Lubrication Specialist role is to provide technical support to the Condition Monitoring Supervisor as well as develop and mentor the Lubrication Technicians.

You will be responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive lubrication program to maximise equipment lifespan and prevent costly breakdowns at Iron Bridge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify ways to further enhance plant availability and reliability; provide input into existing condition monitoring program and implement improvements to deliver business outcomes.
  • Train, develop and mentor the Lubrication Technicians in line with industry standards and best practice.
  • Ensure Standard Work Instructions are relevant and task specific, e.g. lube quantities, frequencies, sample point identifications, sampling best practices.
  • Provides support to the team on lubrication issues, interprets oil analysis, and maintain integrity of lubrication watchlist.
  • Oversee and maintain lubrication schedules so they are completed on time, providing technical advice for root cause analysis for lubrication solutions.
  • Manage integrity of internal lubrication database and analysis systems.
  • Ensure oil samples are taken to the highest cleanliness standard and correct locations to ensure maximum levels of accuracy of live oil samples and ensure samples are processed and sent in a timely manner offsite for analysis.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a Lubrication, Condition Monitoring or Mechanical role preferably in the Mining or Oil and Gas industry.
  • Expert level understanding of lubrication fundamentals, principles, practices and maintenance strategies.
  • Trade qualified or equivalent along with:
    • Machinery Lubrication Technician MLA II certification
    • Machinery Lubrication technician MLA I certification (mandatory)
    • Introduction to Hydraulics (Hydraulics 1)
    • Maintain Hydraulics (Hydraulics 2)
