Were currently seeking a motivated and skilled to join our Works Team for a short assignment with potential for extension. This role plays a key part in the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure such as roads, drains, paths, reserves, and cemeteries.

About The Position

Were currently seeking a motivated and skilled to join our Works Team for a short assignment with potential for extension. This role plays a key part in the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure such as roads, drains, paths, reserves, and cemeteries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete civil works projects to safety, quality, time, and budget specifications
  • Operate machinery, multi-function plant, and small equipment safely
  • Conduct pre-start checks and ensure vehicles and plant are well-maintained
  • Perform manual labour and use hand tools effectively
  • Participate in cemetery burials in accordance with Local Laws and Shire policies
  • Accurately complete documentation, including forms, records, and reports
  • Respond to after-hours callouts (by mutual agreement), supporting the Shires service delivery
  • Maintain tidy and safe worksites with regular housekeeping duties
  • Identify and report any quality concerns immediately
  • Maintain quality control of all tasks and deliver work to high standards
  • Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and contractors in line with the Shires Code of Conduct

Mandatory

Skills & Qualifications:

  • White Card
  • HR Licence
  • Labouring Experience

Preferred

  • Chainsaw Operations
  • Traffic Controller Accreditation
  • Previous Experience in Local Government Civil Works
  • First Aid Certification
  • National Police Clearance (NPC)
