Manager - Industry Compliance & Enforcement

Australian Communications and Media Authority

Date: 8 hours ago
City: Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
Contract type: Full time

At eSafety, we are pioneers in online safety regulation, leading global efforts to combat digital harms and foster safer, more positive online experiences for all Australians.

Our mission is bold and far-reaching. From tackling cyberbullying and child sexual exploitation to confronting emerging harms brought about by new innovations such as generative AI and immersive technologies, we oversee Australia’s online safety landscape.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manager to join our Industry Compliance and Enforcement Branch to shape and operationalise world-leading online safety regulatory frameworks.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader who has:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and operationalising an agency’s approach to novel and complex regulation.
  • Experience with or awareness of the regulation of online services, particularly the Online Safety Act 2021 (Cth) and related legislative frameworks across Australia and the globe.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and written and verbal communications skills and the ability to develop and put forward evidence-based advice in a compelling way.
  • A proven track record with stakeholder engagement, including with senior leadership across government, non-government organisations, civil society, academia and the online industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and guiding teams and fostering a positive, collaborative, and supportive environment for them.

We presently have at least one ongoing EL2 Manager opportunity available within the Industry Compliance and Enforcement Branch, but it is very likely this recruitment process will be used to create a merit pool to fill additional EL2 Manager roles on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis.

Full details of the position, and information about how you can apply, are provided in the candidate pack.

To be eligible for employment with eSafety, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
