This is a Permanent Part Time appointment for 40 hours per fortnight.
Are you a compassionate, experienced oncology nurse ready to make a lasting impact on patients, families, and the healthcare team? Join our dedicated Oncology Department as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, where your advanced clinical expertise and leadership will drive excellence in cancer care.
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Oncology, you’ll serve as a vital clinical expert, consultant, educator, and advocate across the continuum of cancer care. The successful applicant shall collaborate with the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) / Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and shall be responsible for the delivery of comprehensive evidence-based nursing care to patients. Supports the CNM/NUM by developing standards of practice, implementing changes to clinical practice, education of staff and initiating research and quality improvement activities. Provides a consultation service within their area of expertise. As a senior nurse has professional accountability to the Coordinator of Nursing - Perioperative / Coordinator of Nursing and provides mentorship and role modelling for nurses and contributes to the advancement of the professional, in keeping with the South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) vision and values.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
