The Opportunity:

As the Waste Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the delivery of Waste, Pest, and Hygiene services through a subcontracted model.

Based in a CBD located office, you'll ensure services are compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with business needs. From handling escalations and streamlining vendor operations to driving continuous improvement and performance reporting—you'll play a critical role in shaping how we manage waste sustainably and efficiently for a high-profile national entertainment facility.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and resolve escalations related to Pest, Waste, and Hygiene services.
  • Review purchase orders and approve invoices in line with contractual scope and services delivered.
  • Lead quarterly governance meetings with vendors to drive safety, performance, and improvement.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to develop contract frameworks that deliver better outcomes.
  • Implement effective SLAs and KPIs to track operational performance.
  • Identify and execute cost-saving and service-enhancement initiatives.
  • Standardise and deliver reports on waste service performance and compliance.

To be considered for this role you will be/have:

  • Formal Trade Qualification and/or Business Degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Waste Management.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, service contracts, and multiple suppliers.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management skills.
  • Passion for sustainability, process optimisation, and continuous improvement.
