We are on the lookout for a highly competent IT Project Manager to take the helm of critical IT projects within a government department. You will be adept at orchestrating the planning, execution, and management of IT projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget constraints, and compliance with established protocols and standards. The role is pivotal and requires an individual with robust leadership qualities, exceptional communication skills, and a profound grasp of IT project management methodologies.

Key Duties

• Lead the full project lifecycle, from inception to completion, crafting detailed project plans that encompass timelines, resource distribution, and risk management.
• Engage with key stakeholders, including internal teams and senior management, to define project goals and deliver consistent updates on progress.
• Identify potential risks and issues early, developing strategies to mitigate them and keep the project on course.
• Manage project resources, ensuring the team is well-equipped with the necessary skills and capabilities to meet project objectives.
• Uphold quality assurance standards, aligning IT project outcomes with Australian Government policies and industry best practices.
• Oversee budget and financial aspects of the project, maintaining precise cost tracking and delivering within budgetary limits.
  
  

Skills And Experience Required

• Proven experience in managing IT projects, particularly within government or regulated sectors.
• Familiarity with government procurement and contract management processes.
• Knowledge of ITIL, cybersecurity, and relevant industry standards.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, Asana, or similar.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
• Capacity to obtain Positive Vetting security clearance.
