What’s the role?
This role ensures effective oversight of financial crime risks by developing and executing monitoring, reporting, and control assessments. It supports the Financial Crime risk management framework, ensuring compliance with laws and standards across Westpac's Business & Wealth division. Positioned within the Second Line of Defence, the role reports to the Head of Financial Crime and ensures risks align with Westpac's appetite. The team advises on AML, CTF, sanctions, ABC, and tax transparency, and supports the division in executing strategy, strengthening controls, and identifying emerging risks.
What do I need?
- Financial Crime Expertise: Strong knowledge of AML/CTF, sanctions, tax transparency, and anti-bribery regulations, with experience in assessing and interpreting complex financial crime risks.
- Problem Solving and Decision Making: Aptitude for problem solving and making risk-based decisions.
- Change Leadership: Ability to thrive in changing environments and lead complex changes that support strategic direction.
- Leadership and Team Motivation: Proven ability to motivate, inspire, and align teams to strategic priorities. Stakeholder Management and Communication: Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence strategic outcomes and produce professional corporate report
