Executive Level 2 - Director, Aged Care Pricing

This role leads a team of data and policy analysts to develop national pricing models used for aged care funding. We combine elements of data science and statistical modelling to inform policy and pricing for Australian aged care services.
The key duties of the position include:
This position leads a team of data and policy analysts responsible for the delivery of all components of the national pricing models used for aged care funding.
This includes:
- leading and managing the Aged Care Pricing section.
- managing the annual cycle of work to deliver pricing advice for aged care, including the residential and support at home programs.
- coordinating preparation of position and briefing papers around the calculation and results of aged care pricing models, including coordinating and providing expert advice to stakeholders in relation to funding models for aged care services.
- representing IHACPA on a range of national committees, working groups and conferences and liaising with Australian governments and national stakeholders regarding pricing advice.
- supporting the agency in the development, testing, and analysis associated with new or modified pricing approaches in health or aged care.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment with the Department of Health and Aged Care, applicants must be an Australian citizen at the time an offer of employment is made.
An applicant’s suitability for employment with Health and Aged Care will also be assessed through a variety of pre-employment check processes, such as:
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal history check, and where relevant, a Working with Children and Vulnerable People Check,
- Completion of a medical declaration and pre-employment medical (where required),
- Providing evidence of qualifications (where required), and
- Obtaining and maintaining a security clearance at the required level.

Employees perform their duties at one of the Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC) offices, in the locations specified in this advertisement. Remote working is possible and is negotiated with your manager on commencement. Flexibility can be negotiated with your manager to balance your personal and professional needs with the needs of your role and business area.
This recruitment process is being used to fill both ongoing and non-ongoing positions. Non-ongoing positions will be offered on a specified term basis for an initial period of up to 12 months with the possibility of being extended (this will not exceed a total of 24 months in the same or similar role).
