About the Role
Join our client in the government sector and play a pivotal role as the Assistant Director, Pay and Conditions. You'll manage a skilled team, overseeing internal and external payroll reporting and SAP HR system upgrades while liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Salary: $117,662 - $141,853 per annum + 15.4% superannuation
  • Hybrid and flexible work options
  • AGSVA Security Clearance (Will be sponsored)
  • Open to permanent or temporary section 26 Transfer or 18 months non ongoing and higher duties

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the Pay and Conditions team to deliver high-quality payroll advice and services
  • Oversee payroll functions, including pay processing, pay cycle checks, and reporting
  • Manage complex payroll queries and strategic team management
  • Analyse, process, and present payroll data to drive business decisions
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports to meet business requirements
  • Work closely with stakeholders to deliver the payroll function efficiently
  • Provide expert advice on SAP system and pay conditions processes
  • Manage major system upgrades and projects
  • Develop and deliver policies, processes, and procedures aligned with strategic people frameworks

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Strong experience in payroll management, including SAP systems
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to foster a positive workplace culture
  • Proven problem-solving and prioritisation skills
  • Experience in leading a team and managing complex queries
