About the team:
We are looking for a skilled Industry Content Writer to join our project team. In this role, you will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and project managers to produce external-facing, publication-quality industry test artefacts, including test guides and complex technical and functional specifications.
These artefacts will support industry participants and software vendors in preparing for and implementing industry solutions as part of ASX’s project to replace its Clearing House Electronic Subregister System (CHESS) .

What You Will Be Doing
- Simplify the Complex – Translate complex concepts and processes into easy-to-understand language and visuals to enable industry stakeholders to understand planning, build and test requirements as part of integrating into the new the CHESS system.
- Develop Industry Test Artefacts – Produce publication-quality documentation, including the industry testing strategy, operational readiness, business &technical specifications, user manuals, technical guides, and FAQs.
- Collaborate and Manage Stakeholders – Engage with subject matter experts (SMEs) and various teams across the organisation throughout the documentation process, including content creation, review and approval, and publication.
- Ensure Quality and Consistency – Maintain consistency in style, tone, and terminology across documentation, ensuring clarity and adherence to ASX and industry best practices.
Must have
- Prior Experience: Minimum of 5 years of technical writing experience, preferably in a top tier management or transformation consultancy within the financial services industry. Experience in technical content development and document creation for external stakeholder audiences on large scale software implementation projects would be highly valued.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in documentation and collaboration tools such as Confluence, JIRA, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio.
- Knowledge Base: Strong understanding of system integration concepts, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Communication Expertise: Excellent ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to industry participants and software vendors in both long-form and detailed specification formats, without the use of artificial intelligence
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to leverage the content and IP across a broad range of stakeholders across teams and functions
- Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to accuracy, consistency, and high-quality work.
- Industry Experience: Familiarity with capital markets, securities trading, or regulatory environments.
- Design & Visualization: Experience creating process diagrams and infographics to enhance technical documentation.
- Tool Proficiency: Exposure to additional documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or Snagit.
- Training & Facilitation: Ability to support training initiatives by developing learning materials and conducting knowledge-sharing session
