Join our Quality & Risk team as a Manager and provide practical advice to support the Strategy, Risk & Transactions (SR&T) business to confidently seize opportunities in a rapidly changing market dynamic and deliver quality services to our clients, whilst assisting the firm meet its professional and regulatory obligations through nurturing risk intelligence and an ethical culture.

What will your typical day look like?

SR&T is a fast-paced business that is continually growing and innovating, looking to us to be a proactive, strategic business partner to ensure we continually meet business and market agility needs.

As a Manager in the SR&T Quality & Risk team, your day-to-day will involve a blend of advisory and hands-on work, where you'll provide high quality technical, innovative, and commercial advice on complex issues and drive risk awareness initiatives.

Day to day you will be the first point of contact for partners and professional staff for a range of risk queries. Queries cover a range of topics including client and engagement acceptance, contracting, confidentiality and security, regulatory requirements and project delivery. You'll provide risk management advice aligning with policy, process and strategy, in relation to identifying or managing risks throughout the engagement lifecycle.

You’ll also lead initiatives that focus on promoting our quality agenda and risk intelligent behaviours such as training and communications, identifying areas of improvement by undertaking internal review programs, improving risk and quality assessment by upgrading framework and processes, or supporting development of new products or services through collaboration, and delivering insights through risk reporting and quality assurance operational activities.

Capable of working independently, you will seek guidance and input from relevant stakeholders as you solve complex issues, develop risk management strategies and recommendations, and provide guidance to the business.

Applying a thoughtful and considered approach, you’ll contribute to the strategic direction of our team through developing framework and methodologies, supporting change management and delivering innovative solutions to enhancing the team’s ways of supporting the business.

To thrive in this role you will be someone with:

  • 4-6 years’ experience in risk management, advisory or compliance roles with experience in professional services highly regarded.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – you’re proactive in picking up the phone and engaging directly with stakeholders to build strong relationships.
  • A natural curiosity and desire to learn/investigate a matter, ask questions to understand the business context of the work you are undertaking.
  • A lateral thinking person who enjoys problem-solving and has a commercial solution focused mindset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • A strong desire to support innovation and process improvement.
  • Superior organisational skills with the ability to prioritise different tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt in response to changing business and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to manage work independently, escalate and consult depending on the complexity of the matter.
  • A great team player but willing to take ownership of tasks and drive initiatives to conclusion
