Senior Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to work within a significant Queensland Government digital transformation initiative. This contract role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a multi-year project, transitioning legacy systems to modern, integrated solutions.

You will play a key role in the business requirements definition and the implementation of a new receipting solution. The role is based in Brisbane, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Lead business requirements gathering and analysis in an agile ICT program environment.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Create and maintain user stories, manage dependencies, and ensure traceability of requirements.
• Provide advice and direction on business requirements, elicitation, data modelling, and financial standards.
• Mentor and support junior analysts while fostering a positive and innovative team culture.
• Promote the implementation of new capabilities enabled by the transition.
  
  

Skills Required

• Proven experience in business requirements gathering and analysis, including both plan-driven and agile approaches.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and facilitate discussions with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of requirements analysis techniques, methodologies, and tools.
• Experience in digital transformation or process redesign projects, ideally in a public sector or regulatory environment.
• Experience with Oracle APEX, Microsoft Dynamics 365, API integration, and/or JIRA is highly desirable.
• Ability to create user stories, wireframes, and journey maps to represent business requirements.
