ESG Advisory Services (part of Global Transaction Advisory Group, TAG): holistic range of services across private equity and corporate companies
A&M's ESG Advisory Services practice supports companies and investors alike as they look to mitigate ESG-related risks and regulations, and drive improved valuation &, return on investment. We offer a holistic range of ESG services at all stages of a company’s lifecycle, from private equity and transactions to performance improvement strategies and mandatory climate reporting. We do so in providing an integrated delivery model jointly with our Transaction Advisory Group (TAG), Performance Improvement and Tax colleagues.
Our services include, buy- and sell-side ESG due diligence, private equity and portfolio company ESG strategy & performance advisory, value creation potential and disclosure around issues such as climate resilience & decarbonisation (incl. AASB S2), supply chain, social challenges relating to both the workforce and wider society.
As a growing team, all members are responsible for contributing to successful client outcomes. We operate a flat structure where junior and senior team members are exposed to much greater responsibility than what is typically afforded in Big 4 environments, including contributing to and leading client meetings. All team members are encouraged to provide objective and thoughtful input into projects; we are not cookie cutter.
We are looking for multiple hires from Consultant to Manager level, full-time, for our Sydney. Employees are rewarded for their contribution to growing both TAG and A&M and our bonus system is well known for both its fairness and generosity.

How You Will Contribute
As part of the ESG Advisory Services practice, you will have the opportunity to:
- Work on a variety of ESG Transaction Advisory and ESG Performance Improvement engagements, working closely with our Managing Directors and senior ESG professionals with hands-on coaching and training
- Gain experience across a variety of global and Australian PE houses as well as corporate clients (including private and public) providing a broad industry exposure and understanding of how different businesses are impacted by ESG risks & opportunities
- Contribute to the delivery of buy- and sell-side ESG due diligence, including analysis of the maturity and performance of PE targets’ ESG programs to manage risks and opportunities in relation to key ESG issues, and how they compare to peers and industry best practice
- Support engagement managers in ESG advisory services, such as peer benchmarking, materiality assessments, maturity & performance evaluation, gap analysis against sustainability reporting standards, or strategy development & program implementation
- Assist in business development, client engagement and sales activities (preparation & participation)
- Proven experience in audit, management consulting and/ or due diligence – at a Big 4 or similar (at least 2 years)
- Passion for (and preferably experience with) private equity/ asset management and its role in financing the green transition & ESG in general
- Fundamental knowledge and familiarity with ESG industry standards (such as GRI, SASB, ISSB, CSRD/ ESRS, TNFD …)
- High proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ways of interreacting with clients
- Chartered Accountant/ CPA or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is a strong plus
