Senior Controls Engineers

LOCATIONS

Melbourne, Brisbane

THE ROLE

We are looking for a number of motivated and dynamic Senior Controls Engineers with experience in automation systems and who enjoy mentoring others.

The core functions of this role are; investigating, analysing, designing and delivering control systems, and will also include support for systems already in the field.

The Role Includes

  • Control system design and PLC programming - including HMI - for standard & bespoke products
  • End-to-end leadership of control system design, development, commissioning and testing for assigned projects
  • Working closely with AGITO management through providing input into the standardisation and development of the Automation and Controls team
  • Actively participating in client safety hazard analysis (depending on capability/qualification may lead this process)
  • Providing after sales technical customer support, troubleshooting and remediation (on or off site)
  • Working with mechanical & electrical teams to ensure strong cross functional
  • integration across all three elements
  • Compliance with standards – both internal framework and customer specifications
  • Regular domestic travel
  • Occasional international travel

  • You have proven experience in delivering projects in both greenfield and brownfield environments.

Your Skills

  • The successful candidate will:
  • Hold a post graduate degree more than 5 years’ experience in Control Systems – salary will be commensurate with experience
  • Have the a proven track record in detailed system design (functionality and controls)
  • Have advanced knowledge of PLC configuration, programming, and commissioning – both Siemens S7 TIA (Preferred) & Rockwell
  • Strong baseline knowledge of electrical engineering with the ability to coordinate and communicate with associated stakeholders
  • Have technical proficiency in safety and the functional principles of safety

Advantageous Attributes Include

  • Experience in robotic palletising/depalletising systems
  • Experience with AGV/AMR solutions
  • Experience in developing or deploying vision based solutions
  • Experience with designing and implementing SCADA systems
  • Knowledge in other PLC platforms (OMRON, Schneider)
  • CMSE certification
