About The Role
Join a dynamic team delivering front-line mental health services across triage, ED response, and acute care. This role is part of a 24/7 team providing intensive, responsive, and person-centred care. You'll work across three core functions to ensure timely, safe, and effective access to mental health support. You will complete telephone triage and intake assessments, respond to consumers presenting to the Emergency Department in crisis, and deliver short-term, evidence-based care through the Acute Response Team. This role also includes engaging with families and carers, and supporting referrals to the most appropriate internal or external services based on consumer needs.

Up to $15,000 incentive payments may be available to support relocation (paid as a reimbursement for Bond and rent, travel costs, removalists, accommodation, visa application fees and more).
The Victorian Government has allocated funds to support rural and regional Area Mental Health Services (AMHS) to provide incentives to attract workers to roles that are difficult to fill.
The new workforce relocation and incentive grants program is being administered by Rural Agency Workforce Victoria (RWAV).

Key Responsibilities
- Complete mental health and AOD assessments for acute referrals
- Work across triage, ED response and acute care as rostered
- Deliver evidence-based, short-term clinical interventions
- Engage families and carers where appropriate
- Build collaborative relationships with community agencies
- Contribute to safe, recovery-oriented care planning
- Qualification and registration in Nursing, OT, Psychology, or Social Work
- Recent clinical experience in mental health settings
- Skills in risk assessment, crisis response, and engagement
- Understanding of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and substance use impacts
