QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.

About The Role

You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing education to key stakeholders within QBuild and its clients to minimise risk and facilitate compliance.

Duties And Skills Involved

  • Provide assistance to the Principal Property Manager to plan and manage the work commitments of property team to:
    • ensure the efficient and effective use of resources
    • develop and maintain reporting to monitor program and project status and deliverables
    • provide practical and expert property advice
    • ensure the timely delivery of programs and projects within budget and in accordance with partner requirements.
  • Formulate project proposals and deliver a range of specialist property projects including projects involving transactional matters and projects requiring the investigation and resolution of complex tenure and native title issues.
  • Source and assess acquisitions aligned with customer requirements and develop strategies and strategic relationships to expand the supply chain.
  • Negotiate the acquisition and / or disposal of routine and / or complex property matters and ensuring all transactions comply with Government policy and procurement requirements. This can include resolution of complex tenure issues.
  • Procurement management of professional consultancy services to support property acquisitions, disposals and / or feasibility investigations—which may include sourcing due diligence investigations and advice from specialist consultants including Valuers, Town Planners, Engineers, Surveyors, and other disciplines as required.
  • Coordinate the development, evaluation and maintenance of Quality Assurance procedures within the work group to drive consistency and high performance. This includes embedding a continuous improvement culture and proactively delivering positive change and uplift across QBuild's products and services.
  • Develop and maintain data and reporting to forecast and monitor performance including project status and deliverables, program progress, KPI achievement, and other relevant metrics.
  • Develop strategic relationships with key customers to build insights and understanding about customer needs, ensuring that QBuild can provide a responsive and value for money service, and meet customer expectations.
  • Prepare high level correspondence including briefing notes, submissions, fee proposals, reports and information papers, along with review of proposed changes to legislation relevant to property management and tenure issues.

Additional Requirements (mandatory/desirable)

  • This role requires travel, including occasional overnight stay and visits to regional areas over long distances.
