Our mission is to empower neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ people to live authentically, build independence, and access the world without barriers. We provide affirming, peer-driven support where clients can truly be themselves, free from the need to mask or advocate for their needs on their own.

About The Role

This casual position offers flexibility, often allowing you to take on as many or little hours as you would like as we grow.

As a Peer Support Coach, You Will

  • Accompany and support participants in attending social or community activities to foster inclusion and connection.
  • Mentor and reinforce new skills to support participants in becoming more independent with daily tasks.
  • Ensure participants feel safe, comfortable, and supported both at home and in the community.
  • Work collaboratively to support participants achieving their goals outlined in their NDIS plans.
  • Support participants complete therapy activities recommended by their therapist, such as exercises or skill practice.
  • Encourage participants to build strength, improve mobility, or enhance communication skills through regular practice and guidance.
  • Motivate and empower participants to stay focused on their goals and celebrate their progress.
  • Communicate with therapists about participants’ progress and share any challenges they face during therapy activities.

About You

Basically, we're looking for a kind, compassionate, self-motivated person who does the right thing and will give our clients an affirming, red carpet experience.

Some Key Qualities We’re Looking For

  • Strong understanding of neurodiversity and/or LGBTQIA+ experiences. Lived experience is highly valued.
  • Current driver licence and reliable, insured car. Travel within the Mid-North Coast (30-40 mins distance) is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience and/or qualifications in disability support or a related field (preferred but not essential).
  • A commitment to building capacity and fostering independence in others.
  • A strong service focus, treating clients with care, respect, and dedication.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).

Your Experience

Lived experience is a highly valuable perspective you can bring to this role, and we warmly welcome applications from peers with neurodivergent and/or LGBTQIA+ lived experience.

We Are Also Looking For

  • Some formal education in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience providing support to people with disabilities.
  • Personal or professional experience working with diverse communities, including neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ individuals.
