About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Quality Manager to join the Downer QTMP project, based in Brisbane. This key position focuses on leading and driving system and process improvement initiatives, coordinating team efforts to address and monitor quality-related issues, and developing measurement systems to ensure organisational growth. The role is instrumental in upholding the Company Quality Policy and The Downer Standard while meeting project-specific objectives
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with expertise in the TDS assurance framework, ISO standards, and principles of auditing. You will be responsible for conducting audits, analysing quality systems, and ensuring their alignment with project management plans and evaluation/control systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to improve systems and processes across various service and industrial settings.
- Collaborate with teams to address customer and supplier quality concerns.
- Design and monitor measurement systems to evaluate organisational improvement.
- Improve the project assurance program according to risks and delivery priorities
- Conduct audits to assess quality system adequacy and identify deficiencies.
- Develop and drive teams to achieve quality goals.
- Tertiary qualifications in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or similar engineering domains.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in relevant fields, including leadership roles with decision-making authority.
- Working knowledge of ISO standards: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 19011, ISO 10007, and ISO 31000.
- Lead Auditor certification in Quality.
- Proven ability to challenge and influence organisational structures and navigate leadership challenges.
- Expertise in project management and quality systems, models, and theories.
- Understanding of rolling stock design, operations, and maintenance is highly regarded desirable.
