The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing improvements of installed assets and supporting tooling in the mineral processing industry. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and contribute to innovation initiatives within the organization.

Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analyze customer needs to identify opportunities for product improvements.
- Design and develop new mechanical components and systems using CAD software and other relevant tools.
- Perform stress analysis and optimization studies to improve component performance and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate mechanical components with control systems and instrumentation.
- Develop detailed technical specifications and documentation for products.
- Lead and participate in product testing and validation activities.
- Provide support during manufacturing start-up and commissioning of new equipment.
- Contribute to the development of intellectual property (IP) strategies related to product designs.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the mineral processing industry and apply them to enhance product offerings.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the mineral processing industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and document control systems.
- Strong knowledge of material properties and selection criteria.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational DEM.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
