About The Role

Our Black Star Pastry Sydney CBD store is a busy, thriving success, and we are looking for an experienced Store/Cafe Supervisor to partner with our team and get in on the action leading our busy store, located in The Galeries,

This gorgeous space has it's own unique identity whilst still offering the full range of Black Star Pastry’s signature cakes, together with specialist products, and first-class coffee from our partner St Ali.

Day-to-day, Your Responsibilities Will Look Like The Following

  • Provide ‘hands on’ leadership within the store, overseeing all direct employees ensuring that they are trained in all store processes, standards and expectations.
  • Communicate position expectations and monitor employee performance including coaching, counselling and disciplining employees in partnership with the Store Manager
  • Ensure adherence to systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Complete weekly rosters in a fair and consistent manner and within budget requirements.
  • Maintain workplace cleanliness and WHS standards, establishing systems to ensure levels are consistent and acceptable, communicating clear expectations to the team.
  • Ensuring quality of service by maintaining consistent standards, analysing and resolving quality and customer service problems, identifying trends and recommending system improvements

About You

  • 2-3 years’ leadership experience in hospitality
  • A talent for mentoring others – you love to lead by example
  • Passionate about the customer experience and product quality
  • Ability to connect with customers and provide an exceptional customer experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated capability to multi-task – your organizational skills will be a strength
  • Motivated and positive team player
  • Strong communication skills
  • Authentic and down to earth with a genuine love of people
  • Love of cake a bonus!
