About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic National Injury Management, Manager to lead our national injury management function across Australia.
This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating injury and return-to-work (RTW) processes across all states and territories, ensuring both compliance and care.
You will play a crucial leadership role in managing insurance and premium-related matters, while fostering a strong culture of employee wellbeing, safety, and recovery.
Your expertise will drive a commercially sustainable approach to injury management, ensuring costs are effectively controlled without compromising the health and recovery of our people.
Reporting to the National Safety Manager, the role can be based either in Melbourne or Sydney.
In this fast-paced environment, you will thrive by regularly collaborating with stakeholders and persistently ensuring strong performance outcomes.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to make sound decisions are essential for this role.

- Champion a culture of safety, empathy, and wellbeing across all levels of the organisation.
- Oversee end-to-end injury management, workers’ compensation, and RTW programs in compliance with state-specific legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Manage insurance relationships, policy negotiations, and premium management to ensure cost efficiency and strategic alignment.
- Analyse and report on claims data, trends, and costs to drive continuous improvement and cost control initiatives.
- Drive early intervention strategies and coordinate best-practice RTW programs that support employee recovery and sustainable return.
- Act as the key liaison with internal stakeholders, insurers, legal counsel, rehabilitation providers, and regulators.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in senior injury management or workers’ compensation leadership roles, ideally within a large national workforce.
- In-depth knowledge of state-based injury management and RTW legislation across Australia (NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, etc).
- Proven success in premium and insurance cost management, including provider negotiations and strategic reporting.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills – you’ll influence at all levels.
- A demonstrated passion for employee wellbeing and creating psychologically safe and supportive workplaces.
