About your role

Reporting to our Market Manager, this technical sales role will allow you to nurture existing relationships, while delivering improvement through innovation and creative technical solutions. Most of your customers will be based in the Warrnambool region with some travel around this area.

In this role, you will work with our broader Process Cleaning Solutions business with a focus on dairy manufacturers in the area. You will become the subject matter expert in the areas of Dairy Cleaning and Production Process applications. This is a perfect role for someone early in their career looking to grow with a market leader.

You will have the opportunity to join our Junior Professional cohort. As a Junior Professional at IXOM, you will undertake professional and technical development programs, be mentored by industry professionals and join the IXOM Professional Networking Group to develop your business skill and learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver on contractual commitments to customers
  • Provide responsive account management and customer service
  • Prepare and execute customer service plans to improve profitability and satisfaction
  • Generate leads through customer interaction (e.g., visits, calls, written correspondence)
  • Provide technical support and information to customers whilst delivering productivity improvements through innovation and technical solutions
  • Work closely with Sales and Market managers to identify and develop new customers and products, increasing market share and improving profitability
  • Capture market intelligence and competitor information

Who are we looking for?

  • A tertiary qualification in a technical discipline, for example, Food, Engineering, Chemistry, Science within the last 2 years
  • Strong communication skills with a great ability for relationship building and stakeholder management
  • Prior experience in a role within the processing industry, desired but not essential
  • Passion for learning and a desire to grow in your career
  • Commercial acumen to truly understand the business development cycle, challenge current processes and offer insights
