About The Role
Established in 1978, Capital Chemist has grown into an award-winning group with around 50 pharmacy outlets across ACT, Tasmania and New South Wales, all dedicated to exceptional patient and customer care.
We are on the lookout for a bookkeeper to join our team and help us keep our financial operations running smoothly across our group of pharmacies. In this role, you’ll manage and maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations. You’ll work closely with pharmacy partners, assist with BAS lodgements, and prepare key financial reports that ensure we’re on track and financially healthy. Your role is key to supporting our operations to run efficiently and in supporting our team’s ongoing success.
Why Join Us?
You are a proactive, self-driven individual with strong accounting skills and a passion for ensuring financial accuracy. You thrive in a team environment, offering support where needed and building strong working relationships with colleagues and partners. You have a solid understanding of Australian tax regulations, including GST, PAYG, and BAS, and are comfortable working with MYOB and Excel to manage financial tasks. Your attention to detail is second to none, and you’re able to manage competing deadlines, especially during key periods like BAS lodgements and financial year-end reporting.
Key Skills & Experience You Bring
We will aim to fill the role as soon as possible and as soon as the right candidate comes along (note: we are planning to hold interviews early May). Please submit your CV and answer a few simple questions to help our selection process.
Please note that the role is Canberra based. You must also hold current Australian permanent residency or citizenship.
