The Role

Hudson has partnered with a high profile government authority seeking experienced APS 6 and EL1 Governance Advisors to join their Governance Team.

If you are looking for a long term contract or a S26 transfer, based in Canberra, and have a baseline clearance, then this just might be the role for you!

Duties:

  • Developing and managing key governance documents such as the Annual Report and Corporate Plan, and related performance reporting requirements.
  • Supporting the development of Branch and Division plans.
  • Supporting and management of the Authority's Audit and Risk Committee,
  • Supporting the Board's governance needs.
  • Developing and managing risk management and business continuity frameworks,
  • Providing support in relation to privacy issues and FOI requests
  • Developing privacy, confidentiality and integrity frameworks.

EL 1

Working closely with the Director, Assistant Directors will lead a small team (1-2 people) to

deliver the relevant outcome(s) above.

Assistant Directors would be expected to work under general direction to provide strategic

direction, and management of complex and/or sensitive governance matters, utilising their

specialist and technical governance expertise to ensure obligations and legislative

requirements are met.

APS 6

Supported by the Assistant Director, Senior Advisors will contribute to the development and

implementation of the above outcome(s), as well as provide general advice and guidance to

business areas on a range of governance matters.

Do You Have?

  • Experience in an APS governance or corporate role, and good working knowledge of the requirements of the PGPA Act, particularly relating to the Performance Reporting Framework and assurance frameworks including Audit Committees.
  • High-quality verbal and written communication skills, strong customer focus and an ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders including the ability to listen, understand, and adapt to different audiences.
  • High-level time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines and deliver high quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion and integrity, and work effectively in a small team.
