The Role
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Software Engineer to support a Federal Government Department in the delivery of modern, integrated software systems. This role sits within a multidisciplinary agile delivery team and focuses on building and maintaining scalable cloud-based applications using Microsoft Azure and .NET technologies.
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for writing clean, maintainable code and collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment. This role will contribute to the development, integration, and automation of enterprise systems across cloud and on-premises platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Due to the nature of this role, applicants must be Australian Citizen and hold (or be eligible) to obtain a Baseline security clearance.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for writing clean, maintainable code and collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment. This role will contribute to the development, integration, and automation of enterprise systems across cloud and on-premises platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain clean, scalable code using .NET, C#, SQL, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with other engineers, testers, and product owners as part of a cross-functional agile delivery team.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs, integrate systems across Azure and on-prem environments, and support CI/CD practices.
- Write and maintain documentation throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise applications for performance and reliability.
- Contribute to the development of automated testing, cloud provisioning, and DevOps pipelines.
- Demonstrated experience working as a Software Engineer (Cloud Engineer) in enterprise-class environments delivering cloud and on-prem solutions using Azure and .NET.
- Proficiency in C#, .NET, SQL, and Web API / RESTful services.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with frontend technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, Vue3), scripting (Bash/PowerShell), automated testing, infrastructure as code, Azure DevOps, or data platform provisioning in Azure.
- Prior experience working in a government setting.
- Work with government on key digital transformation initiatives that impact millions of Australians.
