The Role
We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to support a federal government department; this is a long-term contract opportunity based in Canberra.
As a Solution Architect, you will play a key role in designing end-to-end architectures that meet critical business objectives. You will guide the technical direction of projects, collaborating closely with design, delivery, and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, performant, and scalable solutions primarily built on Microsoft Azure and associated technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver modern, cloud-native solution architectures using Microsoft Azure services and functions.
- Develop high-quality architecture design artefacts (conceptual, high-level, and detailed).
- Lead architectural discussions and decision-making across technical and business stakeholders.
- Ensure solutions align with departmental standards, the Whole-of-Government strategy, and cloud best practices.
- Apply DevOps and Agile methodologies throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Collaborate with other architecture domains (Enterprise, Data, Security) to ensure integration and consistency.
- Identify opportunities for technical innovation and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience designing enterprise-grade solutions using Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments.
- Strong architectural leadership and ability to clearly articulate complex designs to technical and executive audiences.
- Solid understanding of DevOps, SDLC, and cloud-native engineering practices.
- Experience producing solution architecture artefacts for large-scale programs.
- Familiarity with Whole-of-Government architecture standards, Microsofts Cloud Adoption Framework, and Azure Well-Architected Framework.
- Work on high-impact digital transformation initiatives for government.
- Collaborate with top-tier architects and technologists across secure cloud environments.
