Location: Robina, Gold Coast

Full-time

Firehouse Subs, one of North America’s fastest-growing sandwich chains, is launching in Australia, and we’re on the lookout for a Category Manager to help make it happen.

With 160+ restaurants planned over the next decade—starting in Southeast Queensland later this year—this is a rare opportunity to join the ground floor of something truly exciting and high-impact.

About The Role

As the Category Manager – Firehouse Subs, you’ll play a key role in building the procurement and supply chain strategies that support our ambitious national rollout. This role combines hands-on sourcing and supplier management with strategic thinking and stakeholder influence, both locally and globally.

You’ll be at the heart of supplier negotiations, cost-efficiency initiatives, and cross-functional alignment, ensuring we deliver the quality, consistency, and scalability needed for one of the most anticipated QSR brand launches in Australia.

What You’ll Do

  • Shape the Strategy: Develop and execute category plans in line with RFG’s commercial and operational goals.
  • Own Supplier Relationships: Source, negotiate, and manage supplier partnerships and SLAs across key product and service categories.
  • Drive Value: Deliver cost savings, supply chain efficiencies, and risk mitigation strategies across the network.
  • Collaborate Globally: Work closely with RBI (our global franchisor) and cross-functional teams to align local strategies with global standards.
  • Support Growth: Ensure seamless procurement support for new store openings, menu innovations, and product launches.
  • Monitor & Report: Analyse data, track KPIs, and report on supplier performance, market trends, and sourcing strategies.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in category management, procurement, or supply chain—ideally in QSR, retail, or hospitality
  • Proven success in supplier negotiation, cost reduction, and driving commercial outcomes
  • Strong contract and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Familiarity with food manufacturing, GMP, and food safety systems
  • A proactive and detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong financial acumen and experience developing market and cost models
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (CIPS, APICS, or MBA desirable)

You Are

  • Strategic and Commercially Savvy: You see the bigger picture and know how to move the levers that drive results.
  • A Confident Negotiator: You balance diplomacy with directness to achieve win-win outcomes.
  • Collaborative and Influential: You bring people together and gain buy-in from stakeholders at all levels.
  • Results-Driven: Focused on measurable success and continuous improvement.
  • Adaptable and Agile: Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same.
