Make an impact at Serco

As a Reliability Engineer in the ASRV Maintenance Team, you’ll play a vital role in managing the through-life reliability and performance of the RSV Nuyina. You’ll drive initiatives in predictive maintenance, condition monitoring and obsolescence management to maximise operational efficiency and vessel safety. Working alongside technical specialists and engineering teams, you’ll help ensure compliance with Class and legislative requirements while driving continuous improvement.


As a Reliability Engineer in the ASRV Maintenance Team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Managing reliability and maintainability activities across marine systems
  • Develop engineering solutions to reduce repetitive failures on the Vessel and equipment through application of analysis of data and the use of Reliability engineering principles
  • Implementing and monitoring condition-based maintenance programs
  • Developing data-driven solutions to reduce repetitive failures
  • Assisting in engineering change proposals and technical documentation
  • Liaising with regulatory bodies to ensure Class compliance
  • Supporting spare parts management through ILS and LSA analysis

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or Equivalent
  • Reliability practitioner certification or equivalent
  • AMSA Medical Certificate
  • Current Driver’s licence (Code Class C)
  • Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
  • Proven experience with CMMS, predictive maintenance, and FMEA/RCM techniques
  • Sound understanding of AMSA/Lloyds standards and Class regulations
  • Strong skills in engineering reporting, analysis and contractor liaison
  • Ability to think clearly under pressure and work autonomously
