About the Role

The Draftsperson will be working closely with engineers, architects or designers to interpret project requirements and create technical drawings and plans using Tekla CAD software. This role is responsible for ensuring all drawings comply with industry standards, regulations and company guidelines while maintaining accurate records of drawings and revisions in the filling system. Other responsibilities include:

  • Revising drawings as required based on feedback from project teams and clients
  • Performing site visits as necessary to gather data and ensure design align with real-world conditions
  • Assisting in preparing material take-offs and bill of materials (BOM) based on drawings
  • Supporting the preparation of documentations required for regulatory approvals and constructions
  • Liaising with a range of stakeholders across other departments to achieve business objectives

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate must have relevant qualifications and proficiency in Tekla CAD software. Safety Steel is seeking an experienced Draftsperson with strong problem solving skills, attention to detail as well as the ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. This role requires a sound understanding of technical drawing standards and principles, as well as knowledge of relevant building codes and industry standards. The successful candidate must have experience in construction, manufacturing or engineering, and the ability to read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings.
